National Library of Medicine • An induced abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It can be done two different ways: Medication abortion (also called medical abortion) and Procedural abortion. An induced abortion is different from a spontaneous abortion. That is the loss of a pregnancy before the 20th week of pregnancy. It is more commonly known as a miscarriage.

Everything from our internet searches, to our wearable devices, to our period apps leave a record. And that record can be sold, shared, or stolen and in some of these cases used against us at our most vulnerable. What digital dangers, strategies, and tools do we need to be aware of in this new environment? How can the fight for reproductive rights and the freedom of women’s bodies become a tenant in how we build digital futures – in terms of products, policy, and practice?
